California hosts 10 ISO/IEC 17025 accredited calibration labs in our directory, supporting 1 different accrediting body and a range of calibration disciplines. Accreditation under ISO/IEC 17025 is the international benchmark for technical competence and is required by most quality management systems and regulated industries.

When evaluating a calibration provider, verify the Calibration Measurement Capability (CMC) values on the accreditation certificate against your measurement uncertainty requirements. Two ISO 17025 labs may both list “dimensional calibration” on their scope, but the uncertainty budgets, and therefore the instruments they can support, can differ significantly.

For fixed instrumentation, large metrology fixtures, or equipment that cannot be removed from service, on-site calibration is often required. 7 of the 10 CA labs in our directory advertise on-site capability, useful for plant shutdowns, CMMs, ovens, and chambers.

Programs with strict turnaround requirements should filter by rush availability early in the sourcing process. Many labs maintain expedited tracks for critical instruments, typically at a premium, and lead times for routine calibrations commonly run 5 to 14 business days depending on the discipline and queue depth.
